About

Started at a kitchen table. Still answering the phone.

Grand Splash Marketing is a full-service marketing, communications, creative, digital and business consulting agency — founded in 2009, based at Grand Lake, Oklahoma, working with clients nationwide.

Our story

Before Grand Splash Marketing existed, Michelle Robertson worked in traditional advertising — printing and radio. She spent her days with local business owners, and she kept hearing a version of the same problem: the internet had changed how customers found them, and there was no one nearby who specialized in helping them navigate it.

In 2009 she started Grand Splash Marketing at her kitchen table in Northeast Oklahoma. The first clients were local: a website here, a listing correction there, a campaign for a business that had never advertised online.

What began as digital help for local businesses grew into a full-service marketing, communications, creative and consulting agency serving businesses and organizations nationally — transit agencies, associations, public-sector organizations, Tribal programs, destinations, and a long list of local businesses we never stopped serving.

The advantage of having seen that entire shift is knowing which changes matter and which are noise. We have adapted through every platform, algorithm and format change since 2009, and we expect to keep doing it.

How We Work

What else should we be looking at?

Clients know what they want. What is harder to see from inside a business is everything the request touches — the website, Google, social, ads, directories, email, booking platforms and everywhere else the information lives.

  • We deliver what you asked for — first, and completely
  • We check everything connected to it before calling the job done
  • We tell you plainly what else matters, and what can wait
  • We size recommendations to a real budget, not an ideal one
  • Strategy and execution handled by the same team
  • One project, a campaign, or your entire marketing department
  • No giant agency minimums and no fixed packages
  • Long-term relationships — we stay accountable for results

Leadership

Michelle Robertson

Founder & President

Michelle Robertson founded Grand Splash Marketing in 2009 at her kitchen table in Northeast Oklahoma. She had spent her career in traditional advertising and media — printing and radio — working alongside business owners every day, and she kept hearing the same thing: customers had moved online, and there was no agency nearby specializing in helping them make that transition.

She built Grand Splash Marketing to fill that gap, and grew it into a full-service marketing, communications, creative, digital and consulting agency serving clients nationwide.

Michelle is a marketing and communications consultant whose work spans strategic communications, campaign strategy, public relations, storytelling, digital marketing, business consulting, and public-sector, Tribal and nonprofit outreach. Public transit marketing and communications has become one of her signature areas of work.

Michelle is also an experienced speaker and trainer. She has taught marketing and communications for Chambers of Commerce, Tribal organizations, nonprofits, transit organizations and private businesses — from one-on-one instruction to organizational workshops, conference sessions and national industry panels. She created, developed and teaches the original transit training Turning Your Transit Driver Into an Ambassador for Your Agency, and has participated as a panelist at the National RTAP Conference in a Federal Transit Administration discussion focused on communications in the federal process.

She is a Native entrepreneur and a citizen of the Wyandotte Nation, and a co-founder of The Navigation Firm, Grand Splash Marketing's sister company specializing in transportation, transit and mobility planning.
