Public Transit & Mobility

Public Transit & Mobility Marketing

Ridership campaigns, funding and advocacy communications, transit storytelling, outreach and the creative work behind them — for rural, urban, Tribal and statewide transportation clients.

Transit marketing is not ordinary consumer advertising. The audience includes riders, non-riders, elected officials, funding bodies, employers, agencies and the general public — often at the same time, with different messages for each.

Grand Splash Marketing has worked in this space for years: ridership and awareness campaigns, funding and educational communications, association and conference communications, photography and video in the field, and the day-to-day content that keeps a transit system visible in its community.

Grand Splash Marketing produced Oklahoma Faces of Transit for the Oklahoma Transit Association — a statewide storytelling campaign spanning rural, urban and Tribal transportation. The campaign received First Place in Group 4 at the 2021 APTA AdWheel Awards for Best Comprehensive Campaign to Highlight Transit Needs and Funding; the award was presented to the Oklahoma Transit Association.

That work sits alongside association and conference communications with organizations including the Oklahoma Transit Association and the South West Transit Association, and regional transportation communications support.

Rural and Tribal transit

Small systems carry the same communication obligations as large ones with a fraction of the staff. We build materials and campaigns that a one- or two-person team can actually keep running.

Funding and advocacy

Explaining what transit does, who it serves and what it costs — in plain language, for audiences who decide budgets.

Field content

Photography, video and interviews gathered on site, so the campaign shows real riders, drivers and vehicles instead of stock imagery.

Plainly Stated

What this service is not.

Grand Splash Marketing does not perform technical transportation planning, service planning or system planning. That work sits with our sister company, The Navigation Firm.
